A very close friend, Joanna, is a third of the way through chemotherapy for Hodgkins Lymphoma, and has been documenting her “journey through chemptherapy” as she politely puts it.
I’ve been totally awed by her attitude so far; dealing with the chaos of the cancer wards, the unprofessionalism of ‘the system’ and the change to daily life and relationships.
Even though it’s a friend and we know what’s going on, reading her blog gives us something more – sometimes more painful, sometimes more reassuring – to understanding what she is going through.
The daily closeness it offers helps to know that she is fighting it in the best way she can.
