6040: Slightly better than 5050

I was only discussing a few days ago how much I hate lugging my laptop around, that in reality the way things are going with accessing ‘your’ media via third party servers means that for most people carrying a laptop with all your ’stuff’ on it really isn’t practical or necessary.

But having used many different mobile solutions to doing work, or simply writing or note taking on the move, nothing has been that successful, from the Palm plus tiny keyboard to the Nokia N73 I use now (which is a pain in the arse frankly). Nothing was as successful as the Psion 5mx which I loved. It was before it’s time.

I prefer not to upgrade my phone every five seconds, but Nokia has just advertised its E90 which looks like it could be close to the holy grail. It looks more robust than the 5mx, smaller and still like a phone but with the ability to write – and not just a scrambled email – on the move.
